Silicon Molybdenum (SiMo)

The mechanical properties of SG Iron can be improved by the additions of other elements to the composition. For example, the additions of 1,5% Molybdenum and 5% Silicon at maximum enhances the heat resistance greatly. Silicon Molybdenum is widely used in the production of parts and components that require dimensional consistency, high ductility, and resistance to heat, oxidation, and impact resistance, such as manifolds, turbo housings, and other parts of turbochargers.
